DGP asks police to check road accident seriously

Taking cognizance on the increasing casualty figure doe to road accident in the State Director General of police Anil K Raturi asked the officers to do everything to check the road mishaps. You run special drive against rash/drunken driving, overloading and other such menace.

While presiding over a traffic review meeting at PHQ , Raturi said that 100 traffic police personnel would be posted in the accident prone areas of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar while 30 to be deployed in Pauri and Tehri districts. Besides Dehradun, these four districts casualties figure have gone up in last few years.

District Police heads have been told to identify accident- prone areas, bottle necks and black spots. you install signboards to avert accidents.

Raturi invoked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that awareness campaign would be conducted using local languages like Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari and also the social networking sites to make the people aware of the traffic norms and the imperative of their abiding by them for their own safety on the road.
