Gov inspected the site to see progress work on Nihal Nullah slope

To review the ongoing work being done on the slope of the Nihal Nullah behind Raj Bhawan, Nainital, Governor Dr KK Paul made inspection of the site.

Expresing satisfaction over the ongoing work Dr Paul said that despite the heavy rainfall this year,there was very less soil erosion and sinking of the land there. He saw that the plants that had been sown had grown and the hill was quite green.the conservation work had been beneficial.

He also had a look at the other hill behind Rajbhawan and gave directions on the spot to the chief engineer (PWD) to prepare a DPR as part of the second phase of the conservation project that would check soil erosion. He asked to file within a week, photographs of the soil erosion on the hill  should be  taken.

The THDC experts should be asked to do a survey of the erosion .He also gave instructions that the drains from which the water was cleared from the golf ground should also be cleaned.

During inspection he was being assisted by the Chief Engineer (PWD) BC Binwal, Executive engineer DS KutiyaL, Assistant engineer (Raj Bhawan) BS Basnal and Meenakshi
