Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu has expressed his desire to proceed on deputation to the Central Government. Currently serving as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and holding charge of the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department, Sudhanshu has submitted a formal application in this regard.
According to official sources, the state government has forwarded his application to the central government for consideration. Further action on the matter will be taken only after approval from the central authorities, followed by final permission from the Uttarakhand government.
1997 batch IAS officer RK Sudhanshu is currently entrusted with some of the most crucial responsibilities in the state administration, including serving as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and heading the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department. In his long administrative career, he has also served in several key departments such as Home and Revenue, gaining wide-ranging experience in governance and policy implementation.
Known for his strict, disciplined and efficient working style, Sudhanshu is regarded as one of the senior-most and influential officers of the Uttarakhand cadre. His possible move to the Centre is being seen as part of a growing trend among senior state cadre officers seeking central deputation, where their administrative expertise can be utilized in higher and more strategic roles.
Officials said that the final decision will depend on the Centre’s response and the state government’s assessment of administrative requirements. Until then, Sudhanshu will continue to discharge his duties in his current assignments.
