Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday conducted a surprise inspection of the Dalanwala police station in Dehradun. During inspection the Chief Minister reviewed the on-ground functioning of the police station and assessed the actual law-and-order situation.
Chief Minister also sought detailed information from police personnel regarding vehicle checking, verification drives, law and order arrangements, and public safety measures. He directed the officials to perform their duties with utmost sincerity, sensitivity and vigilance, emphasizing that the police force must always work with a strong sense of public service.
Taking a serious view of the shortcomings found during the inspection, the Chief Minister ordered the immediate suspension of the officer in charge of the Dalanwala police station. The action underscored the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards negligence and sent a clear message that accountability applies equally to all, irrespective of rank or position.
Chief Minister Dhami stated that maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of citizens is the top priority of the state government. He warned that any laxity in duty would not be tolerated and instructed senior officials to ensure strict compliance with rules and regular monitoring at all levels.
The surprise inspection once again highlighted that the Dhami-led government believes in governance on the ground, not merely on paper. With a firm focus on transparency, administrative discipline and public safety, the Chief Minister’s proactive approach is strengthening public trust and contributing significantly to effective crime control in Uttarakhand.
