The search operation for a missing young trekker on the Madhyamaheshwar trek has intensified, with helicopters, drones, and multiple rescue teams pressed into action on a war footing. Joint efforts by the police, SDRF, and DDRF are underway as teams navigate difficult terrain to trace the missing youth.
According to officials, at around 10:15 pm on November 10, the Police Control Room in Rudraprayag received information that Vasu Farasi (22), a resident of Dada Khudanwala, Sahastradhara Road in Dehradun, had gone missing. Farasi was part of an eight-member group trekking toward the famous Madhyamaheshwar shrine when he became separated from his companions. Despite initial search attempts by the team, he could not be located.
Acting swiftly on the alert issued by the Disaster Operations Center, Rudraprayag, Revenue Sub-Inspector Ransi, along with teams from the SDRF, DDRF, and local police, mobilized immediately. Rescue teams began moving toward the trek site overnight, launching a full-scale search operation.
Given the challenging and mountainous landscape, authorities have deployed helicopters for aerial reconnaissance and drones for high-altitude scanning, significantly enhancing search precision. Meanwhile, foot teams are combing dense forest patches, steep ridges, and narrow trails despite adverse terrain and weather conditions.
Officials confirmed that all units remain on continuous duty, and search operations are being further intensified to trace the missing trekker at the earliest. Rescue personnel on the ground and in the air are coordinating closely, leaving no section of the trail unchecked.
The operation continues, with authorities expressing hope that the young trekker will be located soon as efforts remain relentless.
