Prime Minister Narendra Modi shares a deep emotional connection with Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. It is this affection and devotion towards the Devbhoomi Uttarakhand that brings him once again to the state on November 9, marking his 20th visit to the state. Modi is the first Prime Minister to visit any hill state so many times.
There is great enthusiasm among the people of Uttarakhand for his arrival during the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the state’s foundation. The state government has made extensive preparations to make this milestone celebration a memorable one.
This will be Prime Minister Modi’s 11th visit to Uttarakhand during Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s four-year tenure. Whenever CM Dhami has invited the Prime Minister to visit the state, Modi has gladly accepted the invitation.
After becoming Prime Minister, Narendra Modi visited Uttarakhand for the first time on September 11, 2015, when he arrived in Rishikesh. At Dayanand Saraswati Ashram, he met Dayanand Giri and enquired about his well-being.
Prime Minister Modi has deep faith in Baba Kedarnath. Since becoming Prime Minister, he has visited Kedarnath five times. For Uttarakhand, Modi has became a strong brand ambassador.
When the pilgrimage to Kedarnath was affected due to natural disasters, Prime Minister Modi visited the shrine and sent a message of safe Char Dham Yatra to the entire country and the world.
There has been significant and unprecedented rush in the number of devotees traveling to Kedarnath after the Prime Minister’s visits.
After the Prime Minister’s visit to Adi Kailash in Pithoragarh district, a large number of devotees have also started visiting the sacred site.
Earlier this year, in March, the Prime Minister visited Mukhba in Uttarkashi district, the winter abode of Goddess Ganga, and gave a message promoting winter pilgrimage.
This initiative is helping to promote year-round tourism along with winter travel in the state.
