Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to 178 candidates selected through the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) for various departments, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to transparent and merit-based recruitment.
The appointments include 117 candidates in the Department of Economics and Statistics, 12 in Agriculture, 30 in Horticulture, and 19 in the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development. The ceremony was held at the Chief Servant House.
Congratulating the newly appointed officers, CM Dhami said he was confident that they would discharge their duties with honesty, integrity and dedication, contributing toward the vision of making Uttarakhand a developed, self-reliant, and leading state in the country.
Emphasising the importance of credible data, the Chief Minister noted that the Economics and Statistics Department serves as the nodal agency for data collection and analysis—an essential component for effective planning and evaluation of government schemes. He added that Assistant Statistical Officers play a key role in assessing the impact of policies and providing factual feedback, helping the government implement timely corrective measures.
Highlighting the government’s achievements in recruitment, Dhami said that over 26,500 youth have secured government jobs in the past four and a half years through a transparent selection process—more than double the appointments made by previous governments since Uttarakhand’s formation. He further stated that the state has taken strict action against the cheating mafia and enforced strong anti-cheating laws, ensuring transparency, speed and credibility in recruitments.
The Chief Minister said the government remains committed to empowering youth and strengthening administrative efficiency through fair and timely recruitment.
