In a bid to ensure physically fitness of media professionals, a special health camp is going to be organized on June 17 here in the Directorate of Information on Ring Road, Dehradun. The camp is being organised as per the directions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and is a joint effort by the Health and Information Departments.
The camp will offer free health check-ups and consultations for journalists and their family members. Senior doctors from Government Doon Medical College will provide expert medical advice and conduct thorough examinations during the event, which will begin at 11:00 AM.
Recently Chief Minister had instructed officials to organize dedicated medical camps for media personnel. “Journalists are the fourth pillar of democracy and play a crucial role in nation-building. Their health and welfare should be a priority,” the Chief Minister said, adding that such camps would be held regularly in the future.
Director of Medical Education, Dr. Ashutosh Sayana, informed that a wide range of specialties will be covered at the camp. The panel of doctors includes senior physicians like Dr. Vivekanand Satyawali and Dr. Ankur Pandey, pediatrician Dr. Ashok Kumar, ENT specialist Dr. Nitin Sharma, ophthalmologist Dr. Shanti Pandey, cardiologist Dr. Amar Upadhyay, gynecologist Dr. Chitra Joshi, orthopedician Dr. Anil Joshi, dental expert Dr. Devashish Sawai, urologist Dr. Manoj Vishwas, surgeon Dr. Dinesh Chauhan, and other skin and mental health specialists.
The camp will also facilitate around 265 medical tests free of cost, making it a comprehensive health package for the media fraternity. This initiative has been widely welcomed by journalist associations across the state.
