Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has inaugurated the three-day Shaheed Mela at Dugadda Park in Pauri on Tuesday, honoring the legacy of freedom fighters. Before the event, he paid floral tributes to the statues of Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad, Late Baldev Singh Arya, and Late Bhawani Singh Rawat in Dugadda.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced several key development projects for the region. These include:
- Construction of a modern multi-purpose building under Municipality Dugadda.
- Provision of an official vehicle for the municipality.
- Conservation and beautification of Bhawani Singh Rawat Shaheed Smriti Sthal.
- Establishment of a permanent night shelter for the destitute in the Municipal Council Dugadda area.
- Upgradation of the Primary Health Center in Dugadda, to be named after Late Shri Mohanlal Bauthiyal.
- Construction of a mini stadium in Dugadda block.
- New bridge on the Silgad river in Fatehpur.
- Beautification and development of the Sidhbaba temple in Matiyali.
Speaking at the event, CM Dhami highlighted the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and the importance of remembering their contributions. He emphasized that such programs inspire the youth to adopt the ideals of dedication and patriotism.
The Chief Minister also announced that Sainik Dham, Uttarakhand’s fifth Dham, is being built in Guniyal village, Dehradun, to honor the state’s soldiers and freedom fighters. He reiterated the government’s commitment to forest conservation, encroachment removal, and wildlife conflict management, stating that a new law will soon be introduced to address forest fires and wildlife attacks.
Various government departments, including Health, Agriculture, and Social Welfare, set up stalls at the event to benefit the public.
