3 dead, 6 injured in road accident in Dehradun

Three persons died and six others sustained injuries in a tragic accident on Wednesday morning near Kuanwala, in Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, according to police reports.

According to Doiwala SHO Vinod Gusain, three vehicles collided with each other and it happened around 6 am. The injured were immediately taken to Doon Hospital, as stated by Vinod Gusain, the in-charge of Doiwala police station. It appears that a severe collision occurred involving the three vehicles near Kuanwala forest.

“Three person of a vehicles lost their lives on the spot. Seven people were going to Rudraprayag from Dehradun in the vehicle. The vehicle driver lost his control over his vehicle which led to the collision with two other vehicles,” Gusain added.

“A 30-year-old woman and her five-year-old daughter were among the deceased. The driver of the car also lost his life. Their bodies will undergo post-mortem, and after all formalities are completed, they will be handed over to their relatives. We will proceed to register a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code,” the Doiwala police station in-charge further stated.

Among the injured, two have been identified as Budhiram (72), a resident of Rudraprayag, and his 70-year-old wife Jaswanti Devi. The identities of the other injured individuals are currently being verified.
