Anil Baluni, Bhartiya Janata Party candidaate from Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency, has filed his nomination paper in Pauri today. Before this Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed a public rally and conducted road show in Pauri too.
As we know that BJP has fielded him against congress candidate Ganesh Godiyal from Garhwal seat. Ironically both party has fielded Brahmin candidate from Garhwal Lok Sabha seat. Since inception of Uttarakhand the seat is won by BJP excluding general election 2009 when Congress candidate Satpal Maharaj had defeated BJP candidate Lt Gen TPS Rawat. The seat is having mojority of Thakur votes and spread over five districts including Ramnagar of Almora district.
