In the summer, the public has to deal with power cuts in many areas of the capital. Wherever the maintenance of the sub-station is broken, the power supply is being interrupted for two to three hours. Even after this, the electricity is disappearing many times in the shortest intervals. At the same time, the claim of UPCL 24 hours of uninterrupted supply is also proving to be false.
On Sunday morning, the transformer of UPCL on EC Road was changed. Earlier it had five MVA capacity, while the new transformer of 12.5 MVA was installed. During this work, power supply was interrupted in several other areas including EC Road from 10 am to 12 pm. At the same time, Haridwar got brake down in a transformer located on bypass road. For this reason, power supply was interrupted from 12.30 pm to 2:30 pm. Apart from this, many areas including Raipur Road, GMS Road, Chandrabani, Harrawala, Dharampur also had 10 to 20 minute power cuts multiple times. In many areas, this cycle continued till late night. During this time, people have had to deal with the heat without electricity.
