Anti encroachment drive conducted in Doon

Combined teams of administration, municipal corporation and police launched a drive to remove encroachment on roads and footpaths on different routes. On one side, from Tehsil Chowk, they removed many illegal constructions, and on the other side, encroachment from the road-footpath in Jakhan along the road between Mussoorie Road Malsi.

During the campaign, the team had to face opposition at three places. After three o’clock in the afternoon, the joint operation of the municipal corporation and police led by SDM Sadar Kamlesh Mehta started the campaign to remove encroachment in Jakhan. On going further from Jakhan, the team started raising the slabs on the road near a mall and some people present there started protest. Meanwhile, there was a sharp debate between the tax officials and traders. Some of the team seized and subsequently penalized the the shopowners.
