Uttarakhand Forest Corporation (Van Vikas Nigam), which is one of the beneficiary corporations of the state, is gradually falling. For the last two years, this corporation is operating in a deficit. Concern was also expressed in the meeting of the governing body (GB) of the corporation. It was reported that the loss of the corporation in the current financial year is estimated to be 46 million. In the last financial year, the corporation was in losses of 7.46 million rupees.
Nearly a dozen cases were held in the meeting of the governing body of the corporation in the secretariat. According to Gambhir Singh, managing director of the corporation, considering the situation of the deficit, the emphasis was on to take steps to deal with this. Recommendations will be prepared by creating a solid and effective plan for this. The meeting also discussed the changes in the marketing system of the corporation.
On this occasion, the budget of the corporation 2018-19 has been approved. It was reported that the corporation is estimated to have revenue of Rs 1004 crore and expenditure of Rs 1050 crore. According to the managing director of the corporation, giving the amount of 2.5 crore to the conservation of forests in Kotdwar area, to spend four lakh rupees for adoption of Tiger in Nainital Zoo Park, giving 25 percent of the mining royalties to the district mining foundations.
