On Thursday, the Uttarakhand government has sealed the Suharti Medical College on the order of the Supreme Court. During the hearing in the Supreme Court, Justice Rohinton Nariman and Justice MR Shah said that it has been decided that college management misled the court. The court ordered the Director General of Uttarakhand Police to seal the college immediately. At the same time, accepting the offer of Advocate General JK Sethi, who came from the government, ordered that on the evening of December 7, Uttarakhand government should acquire Medical College and run it on its own.
In fact, two years ago, MCI had inspected all the inspections of the Subharti Medical College. MCI had found that land (khasra) of the medical college and the hospital on which the hospital is situated are located at different places. On this basis MCI had canceled the college’s recognition. In the District Court of Dehradun, there was a dispute between the divisional court of another developer in the division court regarding the properties between former manager and current managers of the Medical College. On the other hand, the medical college management went to the Supreme Court against the recognition of the MCI from where they got lodged for medical college and hospital operations.
During the hearing, the college management did not say anything about the ongoing courts in the lower courts. After this, Manish Verma, formerly owned by the college, filed a petition in the Supreme Court. At the same time, some college MBBS students also filed a petition to shift to other colleges. The case was heard in the Supreme Court on Thursday. In this, both the parties who filed the petition submitted their evidence that the college management kept false facts while getting the stay. After hearing both sides, the court admitted that the college management misled the court. The court asked Advocate General JK Sethi, who came from the Uttarakhand government, to immediately order the Director General of Police to seal the medical college on behalf of the court.
