Pauri girl died today

A girl, who was burnt alive by a stalker, has succumbed to her injuries today. She fought with life for six days but could not continue her fight and took last breath at Safdarjang hospital, Delhi on Sunday.

She was burnt because she refused to accept the proposal of a stalker while she was coming from college. Although Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has expressed heartfelt condolence over her demise. With this incident one thing is clear that hilly lifestyle has phenomenally changed because earlier the state more than 80 percent areas were under revenue police and such kind of incident were seldom happening but now crime against women has increased. Although government claims that they have put system in place but nothing has happened.

Describing the incident as tragic, Chief Minister said that all efforts were made to save the girl student. On the advice of doctors, she was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi for better treatment. Unfortunately, the girl could not be saved even after all the efforts. It is very sad for us.

Chief Minister said that the government is very strict on cases of women harassment. Police officers have been instructed to take strict action against the anti-social elements involved in such incidents and ensure that they get the severe punishment.
