CS asks DMs of Haridwar and US Nagar

Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh reviewed the arrangements for the Untied Fund and achievements of the projects with the District Magistrates of government of India aspirational districts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar through video conferencing today.

Chief Secretary instructed the District Magistrates of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts to submit proposals for the demand of funds, with justification, for various important schemes, which are incomplete due to lack of funds, within a week. He instructed the Health Department to take necessary action on the demand of the district Haridwar’s vacant medical officers, ANM, Asha workers and posts statistical officer. He directed the District Magistrate Haridwar to pay special attention to the nutrition of the weak children. He instructed the District Magistrates of both the districts to regularly monitor the problems related to the education, health and women child development in their respective districts and instructed to send a proposal, with justification, to the government within a week, for the desired amount required for this work.

Notably, for the financial year 2018-19, the District Plan has a provision of Rs. 37.05 crore and Rs. 40.81 crore for district Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar respectively, against which amount of Rs. 26.10 crore for Udham Singh Nagar and Rs 23.34 crore for Haridwar have been approved.

The physical progress of the schemes was reviewed by the Chief Secretary. He instructed that remaining funds should to be utilised fast and also instructed the District Magistrate Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar that schemes which are important and useful for the people but are incomplete due to lack of funds, the demand for the desired untied fund with justification should be raised.

In the meeting, in-charge Secretary Ranjit Sinha, Additional Secretary Planning Ramvilas Yadav, Chief Engineer Y. Singh, GM Jal Sansthan Neelima Garg, Coordinator Swachh Bharat Mission DR Joshi and officials of the concerned departments were present.
