In order to review the objections being raised on movie Kedarnath, a committee under the headship of Tourism Minister Mr. Satpal Maharaj has been constituted. Home Secretary Nitesh Jha, Information Secretary Dilip Jawalkar and DGP Anil Raturi are members of the committee.
The committee will examine the objections being raised pertaining to the movie Kedarnath and will submitt its report. Based on this report, an appropriate decision on the screening of the movie in Uttarakhand will be taken.
A day before petition was filed in the Uttarakhand High Court against “Kedarnath” movie. In which petitioner alleged that it is hurting sentiments of Hindus.
The PIL alleges the movie is an “ugly taint” on the Hindu shrine. One of the allegations is that Lord Kedarnath has been insulted in the film.
The PIL also claims that the movie trailer shows that Muslims have been residing in the area for ages while there are no residents from the community in the area.
