Yet another saint sacrificed his life in BJP regime

Noted Environmentalist Prof GD Aggarwal turned Saint Swami Gyan Swarup Sanand has died in AIIMS, Rishikesh on Thursday. A day after he was forcefully admitted to AIIMS on October 10, 2018. He was sitting on fast since June 22, 2018 with a demand to maintain the natural flow of holy river Ganga. Its seriousness can be gauged that no government officials or leaders bother about his deteriorating health condition. It seems they acted once they realised that he would not survive because he was forcefully lifted by the administration on October 10 and he died on October 11.

With this death one thing is clear that incumbent BJP led Uttarakhand government did not bother about his condition. As we know that in 2009 he had staged protest with a demand to stop construction
over the Bhagirathi river and then chief minister Maj Gen Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri took cognizance on it and ordered to stop three power projects i..e pala maneri, bhairoghati. Although incumbent CM  has expressed condolence on his death. Meanwhile opposition congress and its state President Preetam Singh has demanded high level probe on this issue i.e. not less than High court judge.

This would be second sacrifice made by Matra Sadan’s saint in last 10 years. During Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank’s regime a saint Swami Nigmanand, who had been sitting on fast to stop mining from Holy Ganga. Then state government had admitted him into hospital and later he died officially. Although Matra Sadan demanded CBI probe on it and had alleged that his saint was poisoned. Ironically, then government had conducted viscera test and given clean chit on it. Now another saint has died. Coincidentally both saints died on the name of holy Ganga during BJP led uttarakhand regime.

Now question is being raised that why government allowed Swami Sanand to die despite knowing the fact that he has been on fast since june 22, 2018? As we know that he had claimed that he would leave water from October 9 if government fails to fullfill his demand i.e. natural flow of holy river Ganga but government did not act accordingly. Although Haridwar MP Dr Nishank had gone to convince him on October 9 but could not convince him. Ultimately government forcefully evicted him and admitted into AIIMS.

Talking to dainiknation.com congress leader says Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited to Uttarakhand to address industrial summit but he did not spare time to meet Swami Sanand. It is now clear that BJP has two view on saints if he (saints) fits politically then they pay attention and if he goes against then they let (saint) dies like Swami Nigmanand and Swami Sanand.
