Stranded cow being kept in Gau sadan

Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Rekha Arya took a meeting of the Grants Committee in connection with giving grants to the Gau Sadan on Tuesday. It was informed by the minister that the cows that are roaming freely are being given protection in the Gaushalas. At present, 22 Gau Sadan are registered with Animal Husbandry Department, in which 5,500 cows have been given protection.

Animal Husbandry Department is providing regular technical assistance to these Gau Sadans and expert doctors of the Animal Husbandry Department conducts regular examination. For these Gau Sadan, grant is being given by the Animal Husbandry Department for the construction of Gaushalas, straw, fodder and Gobar Gas Plants. For the construction of the Gau Sadan, 50 cows in the urban area and 25 cows in the hill area have been kept as standard. The Minister said that the state government has given Rs 2 crore budget to the Animal Husbandry Department for the protection of the Gau Sadan, which is a historic budget.

On this occasion, Chairman of Uttarakhand Gau Seva Commission Narendra Singh Rawat, Additional Secretary Animal Husbandry BM Mishra, Director Animal Husbandry KK Joshi, Joint Director Animal Husbandry Dr Ashutosh Joshi, Dr Binu Bhadauriya and in-charge officer Rishi Seamwal etc were also present.
