High Court relief for IAS officer Dr Pankaj Pandey in NH 74 case

Nainital High Court stayed IAS Dr Pankaj Pandey’s arrest till October 30 in the NH-74 land scam. The court has asked the petitioner to file an interim bail application in the sessions court. After this, the applicant has withdrawn the Interim bail granted in the High Court. Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari’s single bench heard the case.

IAS Dr Pankaj Pandey, who came under scrutiny in the NH scam, had filed an anticipatory bail petition to avoid his arrest. The government advocate opposed it. He argued that the HC’s single-window interim bail has been arranged for past days with prayer letters. Under this, cases will be filed in the sessions court. On this basis, it has to be presented in the interim bail application session court. His counsel advised the Supreme Court order in his plea. Said that the state’s high court also has the right to hear the interim bail application. The bench has asked to present an advance bail application in the sessions court based on the arguments of the government advocate. During the hearing, the government advocate assured the court that the police will not arrest Dr. Pankaj Pandey till October 30. On this, the court issued orders not to arrest IAS Dr Pankaj Pandey till 30th October.
