An MoU between Uttarakhand and Haryana relating to Kishau and Renuka multi-purpose projects will be done soon. A decision has been taken about the share of electricity and water related to the Kishau multipurpose project between the two states. The project will supply electricity to Uttarakhand and 47 per cent water supply to Haryana. Uttarakhand and Haryana will jointly request the Central Government to give permission for the tender for Kishau. The emphasis is on the collective efforts of the states to complete the multi-purpose projects of Kishau, Lakhwar and Renuka. Target to complete Lakhwar multi-purpose project in the next 4 years has been fixed.
Lakhwar project will supply 160 cusec water annually to Haryana. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that concerted efforts are being made to complete the three projects. Under the final joint effort of the states, the Central Government will be requested to give permission for the start of the tender process for these projects. Chief Minister said that the Kishau, Lakhwar and Renuka multi-purpose projects will fulfill the power and water needs of both the states.
Soon, an MoU will be signed in connection with transportation between Uttarakhand and Haryana. Chief Minister said that the work which had been pending for last 40 years are now being completed fast with better coordination between the Central and the State Governments. Today, at the centre and states, the governments are working in decisive manner. On Friday, discussion regarding the Kishau, Lakhwar and Renuka hydro-power projects were held between Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat and Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar at Sahastradhara Helipad Guest House.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary Mr. Anand Bardhan and Managing Director of Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited Mr. S.N. Verma and other senior officials were present
