CS reviews ongoing construction works

Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh visited Kedarnath Dham and reviewed the under construction works of replica, pathways, ‘Uddav kund’ and other works on Sunday. He gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials to complete the works on time. On this occasion, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh instructed the irrigation department to complete the work by October 31.  He also asked the power department to replace the old dangling wires from helipad to temple or make them underground.

He instructed the National Institute of Mountaineering (NIM ) to make protection wall to make ‘wirekate’ more attractive or give it slight slope and asked DDMA  to complete the work of hat bazaar in front of bio-metric so that the problems of shopkeepers could be solved.  He said that there should be same space left between the shops, grass to be grown instead of concrete in front of shops, removal of sign boards from Rudra point to Kedarpuri, removal of old BKTC structures on the other side of Mandakini river at Ghora Parav, removal of three illegal tin houses at Kawra house, to open Uddav Kund and repair of pathways from VIP helipad to the temple.

 He instructed the working agency that there should be a straight path in front of temple from replica so that the pilgrims from Mandakini ghat to Kedarnath are not put to stand in long queues and not made to do the ‘darshan’ taking a long detour. He also called for maintain cleanliness, putting mats at the front courtyard so that Kedarpuri looks attractive and beautiful.

District Magistrate Rudraprayag Mangesh Ghildyal asked all the departments to follow the instructions given by the Chief Secretary and complete the work on time. He said that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated. Deputy district Magistrate Gopal Singh Chauhan, Manoj Semwal of NIM and other were present on the occasion.
