A meeting of the 15th Finance Commission under the chairmanship of it’s chairman N.K. Singh was held at secretariat on Tuesday. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat and Finance Minister Prakash Pant were also present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Finance Minister Prakash Pant in their welcome address discussed the demand for special package due to tough geographical conditions of the state, sensitivity of the state towards natural disasters, extra cost of water schemes and other projects, state government projects to conserve water, services of the state in ecology protection and contribution to carbon credit, losses suffered by state due to revenue deficit grants and ille effects of 14th Finance Commission on the financial condition of the state.
Secretary Finance ,Uttarakhand government gave a presentation on the financial condition of the state during the meeting. The 15th Finance Commission has also invited suggestions from traders and entrepreneurs on the financial aspects of the state.
The members of the 15th Finance Commission namely Shakti Kant Dass, Dr. Anoop Singh, Dr Ashok Lahiri and Dr. Ramesh Chand were present.
