The National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) member AB Mathur met with Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and discussed various issues related to internal security.

Mathur talked about strengthening of the police force, intelligence network and cyber security along with other aspects related to internal security. During the discussion, Chief Minister spoke on the need for more efforts for strengthening the intelligence network in the State.

Talking about the importance of modern information technology in view of internal security, Rawat also stressed on the need for taking effective steps towards controlling cyber crime.

He said that Uttarakhand being a border area State, strengthening of internal security here would benefit both the State and the nation. Technically capable human resource and availability of infrastructural facilities would definitely help expedite the works of the police, said the Chief Minister.

Mathur informed that seminars are being organised in this regard in various States. In these seminars, suggestions are being taken from police officers, subject experts and those involved in the education and social spheres. Improvement in police functioning could be achieved through elaborate efforts for making the policing system more effective and strong, training and better facility along with coordination among departments concerned, he said.

The State’s Director General of Police Anil Kumar Raturi and other officials were also among those present on the occasion.
