Badrinath to be developed as per master plan

After getting success in Kedarnath, state government is going to develop Badrinath as per the master plan.

In this regard chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh and Tourism Secretary Dilip Jawalkar reviewed the proposed master plan, which has been prepared by consultant.. He said that Kedarnath dham is being developed as per the master plan and it is getting round of applause from all quarter.

In order to develop Sri Badrinath Dham under the master plan in future, Chief Secretary Mr. Utpal Kumar Singh and Tourism Secretary Mr. Dilip Jawalkar discussed the proposed master plan with the consultation of Company hired by government in Badrinath Dham. He said that Sri Kedarnath Dham is being developed with the master plan, which has been appreciated by all the people. On the same pattern, efforts are being made to develop Sri Badrinath Dham as per a master plan.

Chief Secretary said that as compared to the past, this year the number of pilgrims and tourists have increased. He said that in coming time, with the completion of the work of the All Weather Road and Rail Project, record number of pilgrims are expected to visit Badrinath Dham. Keeping in mind the future, the plan is to develop Badrinath Dham under the master plan. Chief Secretary and the Tourism Secretary took minute details from the consultant about the proposed master plan. During this, they also held a meeting with the district level officers and took information about the proposed works at the Dham. Chief Secretary instructed the officials to share the proposed and operational works in Badrinath with the Data Consultant, so that the proposed works can be included in the final master plan.

Jawalkar said that the number of tourists reaching the Dham has increased steadily due to good helicopter connectivity in the state. Also, if the road facilities develop, the number of tourists will increase significantly in the future. He said that in the next 15-20 years, in order to ensure that tourists can get good facilities, the planning of the town is being done. He said that further action will be taken as the blueprint is prepared as directed by the Chief Secretary and in that local people will also be included.

Chief Secretary and Tourism Secretary also visited the last village Mana and took information from the officials about the proposed work. During this, Chief Secretary said that effort will be made to prepare a comprehensive plan at the government level to promote the famous handicrafts of the village, so that craftsman can get the full benefit of this. Prior to this, Chief Secretary and Tourism Secretary visited Lord Badrinath and offered prayers.

District Magistrate Swati S Bhadauria, Chief Development Officer Hansadutt Pandey, EE PWD DS Rawat, District Tourism Development Officer Bijender Pandey and officers of the Jal Sansthan, Power, UREDA, Small Irrigation, Forest, Nagar Panchayat etc were also present on this occasion.
