47 vintage cars reach Mussoorie as part of Himalayan Challenge 2018

47 cars reached Mussoorie on Sunday evening as part of the Himalayan Challenge-2018 Vintage Car Rally, which started from Delhi on September 21,  after covering a distance of about 1500 km. These vintage cars are from 44 to 94 years old andthe participants have come to participate in the rally from as far as Europe, America and Australia.

On Monday morning the rally left for Rishikesh via Chamba (Tehri) from Mussoorie. From where the Rally will go through Rudraprayag, Nainital to Pokhra in Nepal, Kathmandu, Chitwan National Park, then Lucknow, on October 11, after covering about 6000 km, ending in Agra.
On Sunday morning, the rally reached Mussoorie’s Hotel JP Residency, Barloganj, from Shimla via Paonta Sahib, Herbertpur, Dehradun at 4:30 AM. The nine cars in the rally are of the 1925-1931 model. It includes the 1925 model 5300 cc Bentley, the 1928 and 1929 models Bentley, the 1932 model Rockney Six, the 1936 model Bentley derby, the 1938 model Ford. 1958 models include Morris Oxford, 1958 model Morgan Plus, 1965 Model Porsche, 1965 model Volvo Amazon, 1955 model Chevrolet, Mercedes Benz of 1959, Datsun of 1971, 1975 Model ambassador etc. Most of the participants in the rally are from Great Britain.
Other participants are from countries like United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, Norway, Austria, Denmark, Czech Republic. Rally convener Lokesh Batta said that this rally has been organized jointly by the US based Indian firm Endurance Rally and P. Adventures. The Endurance Rally Association has successfully conducted more than 60 rallies in more than 50 countries. He said that these types of competitions should be organized from time to time.
