Hemkund Sahib’s yatra to be eased by state

Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh reached Hemkund Sahib on foot from Ghangaria on Saturday and reviewed the travel arrangements on Hemkund Sahib Yatra route.

Chief Secretary instructed the District Magistrate to take a report from Divisional Forest Officer, Nanda Devi for a helipad and ropeway for Hemkund Sahib and put it up. At the same time, he also gave directions to the District Magistrate for urgent action on the demand of Ghangaria to be declared a Revenue Village under the Forest Rights Act of rural people of Bhundar.

Besides it, Chief Secretary also appealed to the people not to have too many constructions in the valley and urged the travelers to keep the environment clean while walking on foot. On this occasion Chamoli District Magisrate Swati S. Bhadauria, Deputy District Magistrate Yogendra Singh, Chairman of Eco Development Committee Satish Chauhan and other officers were present.
