Grant amount doubled for Kailash Yatra pilgrims

The Uttarakhand government has doubled the grant amount given to pilgrims traveling to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. The people of Uttarakhand who are traveling will now be given a grant amount of 50 thousand rupees from the government. So far 25 thousand rupees per pilgrim were given.
On the last day of the assembly session, MLA Surendra Singh brought a proposal to make the journey free of cost on the lines of other states to increase the participation of Uttarakhand in Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

On behalf of the Government, Tourism Minister, Satpal Maharaj said that the assistance amount for the Kailash Mansarovar Yojana will be increased from 25 thousand to 50 thousand rupees. This amount will be given to permanent residents of Uttarakhand, who go to Kailash Mansarovar.
In fact, the amount of Rs 25 thousand is given through the Kumaon Mandal Tourism Development Corporation for the pilgrims who are traveling in the journey through the culture department. Now it will be doubled.

Earlier, MLA Surendra Singh Jeena said that Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has been made free from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and other states. Which is why this year 134 pilgrims from Gujarat, 121 of Rajasthan, and 117 from Uttar Pradesh traveled to Kailas Mansarovarh.

While only 17 passengers from Uttarakhand joined the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. He said that for the Lord Shiva’s vision, people travel hard and reach Kailash Mansarovar. The first phase of the journey starts from Uttarakhand, therefore, the government should provide free travel facility considering the religious belief of the people.
