CM TS Rawat inaugurates IPPB, Dehradun

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) from the Talkatora Stadium in Delhi. IPPB is being launched from 650 branches and 3250 Access Point across the country. IPPB is being set up to provide facilities for the common man in the form of smooth, affordable and dependable bank. Banking facility will be made available to people from the large network of post offices and Gramin Sevak. The IPPB tag line is “Aapka Bank Aapke Dwar”.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated it in Dehradun Branch at GPO Dehradun on Saturday. He Distributed QR Cards to four account holders and launched its logo. Currently, 12 branches of IPPB are being opened in Uttarakhand. As many as 60 Access Point are being made for this.

Chief Minister said that Prime Minister has initiated the IPPB to revive the institutions from which people were getting away. The introduction of IPPB will strengthen the rural economy. There will be a new change in people’s thinking for savings. The provision of IPPB will prove to be a game changer with improvement in the rural economy. The economy of Uttarakhand has remained on the Money Order system. This is a good start in realizing PM’s dream of Digital India. He has done the work of popularizing radio and strengthening Doordarshan. Khadi is being promoted. With the use of Khadi, the Silk industry is making good earnings.

Chief Minister said that IPPB aims to achieve the goal of financial inclusion by providing most accessible, economical and dependable for the public and those deprived of banking facilities in the country, as well as those facing problem of insufficient banking facilities. IPPB will benefit people of rural areas, senior citizens, students, farmers and small businessmen.

On the occasion, Assembly Speaker Premchand Aggarwal, Minister of State for Higher Education Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Khajan Dass, Ganesh Joshi, Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’, Munna Singh Chauhan, Chief Post Master General Vinay Kumar Tiwari etc. were present.
