China has once again tried to encroach on the Indian border after the deadlock. This time China’s People’s Liberation Army has trespassed Indian territory adjacent to the border in Uttarakhand. News agency ANI quoted a source that in August last month, the Chinese army has tried to enter the Indian border at least three times.
The soldiers of the Chinese army had entered the village of Barhoti in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand about 4 km inside the Indian border. According to the sources, after the intervention of the Indian Army, the Chinese soldiers had to return from there. Chinese soldiers tried to encroach on the Indian border on August 3, 14 and 15.
In July last year, an attempt was made by China to enter the Indian border. Then the Chinese soldiers reached one kilometer inside the Indian territory in Barahoti . In 2013 and 2014, there were reports of air patrols along with intrusion of Chinese troops in the region.
On the officers connected with Line of Actual Control, General Commander Commanding-in-Chief (GOC) Northern Command, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh said earlier this year that such incidents are in those areas where we have different assumptions of the actual Line of Control India and China have well-established mechanisms in these areas.
LAC is a 4,057-km border between India and China, where there are glaciers, ice deserts, mountains and rivers.
Last year the Chinese soldiers had camped for several months in Doklam on the border of Sikkim and Bhutan. India had protested on this and soldiers from both countries were face-to-face for about 70 days.
