Strange but true, China has constructed double lane road upto their border. If we believe on the Kailash Mansarovar’s pilgrim then they have built road upto lipiyadhura border. Even they have constructed road surrounding their hills. Their pace can be imagined that everyday you will find new road there. Due to wide road network they are able to move anywhere even during landslide. In Indian side you have to stay in case of disaster or post disaster because we don’t have alternate.
Kailash Mansarvoar’s 15th batch member Sanjeev Kumar has explained the prevailing situation of chinese side and indian side. Although he said the construction work is in progress on indian side but pace is too slow if you compare with china.
If we compare with India and its border then pace of construction is very limited. Here we have to stay in case of disaster because we have lone road due to lack of alternate route. In 2007 in Dharchula tehsil Border Road Organisation (BRO) was assigned task to build road upto Milam, which falls in Tibetan border between Garbadhar to Lipulekh and Munsyari. As we know that Milam is last village of indian border. They were told to complete the road by 2014 but pace of road construction have slowed down after Garbadhar.
Similar condition is prevailing in Munsyari, which road was supposed to come up by 2016. Its condition is pathetic because we are going to complete 2018 but it will take another one to two year. Due to this reason pilgrims had to travel on foot to cross chinese border through Lipulesh cave.
