The court has passed orders for the train timings to be 5 PM from Kathgodam to Dehradun and 5 AM from Dehradun to Kathgodam. Along with this, the court has also ordered to run the Naini Doon Janshatabdi to be run on Sundays.
Advocate Pankaj Miglani filed a PIL in the High Court. In that he said that there was very bad condition of the railway stations of Kathgodam and Dehradun. Platforms are filled with dirt. There is no arrangement for cleanliness. Railway coach is also full of dirt. There is no proper arrangement for eating or sleeping in the coaches.
The petitioner also says that it is the main tool to connect the High Court and the capital. It is also in a miserable condition. Most people come to the high court and the capital for their work, but the timing of the train is not good, most of the time is spent in travel.
After listening to the matter, the Chief Justice Rajiv Sharma and Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari’s bench have instructed the railway to change the time of Jan Shatabdi express and also to run it on Sunday. Keep the platform clean, passengers should be given a special meal during the trip. Coaches should be cleaned daily. In this case, the Railways has also asked to make a reply.
