Governor designate of Uttarakhand Baby Rani Maurya would take oath of office at Raj Bhawan on Sunday. She would be the second woman Governor of UK after Margret Alva. Sources said that large number of guests are coming from Agra. Due to this Rajbhawan has curtailed the name of guest because the swearing-in ceremony would happen in auditorium.
She would arrive at Jollygrant airport in a State plane at 12 noon on Sunday. Garhwal commissioner and DIG would receive Maurya there. A guard of honour would be accorded to her at the airport by a contingent of State police personnel. From the airport, she would reach to GTC helipad via state chopper, where the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun would receive her. On her arrival at Raj Bhawan, Maurya would be welcomed by the Chief Secretary and Director General of police.
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh reviewed the preparations for the swearing-in-ceremony on Saturday. In a meeting attended by the DGP, additional chief secretary Om Prakash, principal secretary Home Anand Vardhan, secretaries-Amit Negi, Ravi Nath Raman and Dilip Javalkar and Garhwal commissioner Dilip Jawalkar, CS stressed that all the arrangements right from departure of Maurya from Agra till the swearing-in ends must be fool-proof.
