On March 8, 2008, 108 services in Uttarakhand were started. At that time the state government had tied up with GVK EMRI for ten years. At present 108 services have 139 ambulances, while 95 khushiyon ki sawari are also engaged in the work of transporting pregnant women from hospitals. On March 8 this year, the tenure of the company ended after ten years as per contract with the government. After which the government gave the company a six-month extension.
The six-month extension is going to be completed on September 7. Meanwhile, due to repeated interruption in the budget, the company had expressed reluctance to do further work. In such a situation, the 108 services can be stopped in the state. After that the government appeared in action. In a Cabinet meeting on Monday, the state government has once again given extension to 108 services for 6 months.
