Sardar Bhagwan Singh University celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with fervent zeal and patriotism.
The programme started with flag hoisting ceremony by Chairman of Gaurav Bharti Shiksha Sansthan SP Singh, Managing Secretary Dr GD Singh, Director Prof. FC Garg and Assistant Manager Zorawar Singh. This was followed by the national anthem. In his address Prof Garg motivated the students to transform the country by hard work and positive thinking.
On this occasion, SBS University was duly proclaimed and renowned academician and researcher Prof. AK Sharma was declared the first Vice-Chancellor of the University. In his speech, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor Prof Sharma encouraged teachers and students to take the University to new heights.
Later, Investiture ceremony of the Captains, House Captains, and Student Secretary of various societies & clubs of the University was done by pinning the badges. The function also witnessed presentation of academic awards to the meritorious students. The Institute choir group presented a bonanza of patriotic songs to mark the occasion. All faculty, staff members and students were present during the occasion.
