Uttarakhand Residential university VC Prof HS Dhami said that till the time of the second world war, India, Japan and China were almost equally as far as their economic condition was concerned. But today there was a big gap among them. He expressed this view while presiding the Toppers conclave along with Doon University VC Dr CS Nautiyal here in Rajbhawan on Monday. The Topic was Technological innovation for prosperity.
However, he said, that today there was a big gap among them. A lot remains to be done in the spheres of education and health India was doing well as far as its economic development is concerned. Industrial revolution had come about only after certain inventions were made.
In his presentation, Dr Nautiyal explained that only for 52 000 years, humans have been on earth. The significant development of human beings had happened in the past 100 to 200 years. People all over the world were moving from villages to cities. Thus we require development of remote and rural areas .In the context of Uttarakhand, he said, herbal cultivation should be boosted . He called upon the students to work towards excellence.
In the last session of the first day, various students also expressed their views. Arti from Uttarakhand Open Uniersity and a student from GB Pant Universty spoke about the need for supporting Digital India and for new inventions and innovations.
