Under the anti-encroachment drive on Thursday, 58 illegal encroachments were demolished and 138 illegal encroachments were identified. Till date, a total of 3195 illegal encroachments have been demolished, 6056 illegal encroachments have been identified and 108 buildings have been sealed.
Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash has informed that in pursuance of orders of honorable court, the exercise of demolition, identification of illegal encroachments and illegal constructions on footpaths, lanes, roads and other places and sealing of illegal encroachments in Dehradun city by Mussoorie- Dehradun Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, Dehradun and district administration has been going on.
Om Prakash informed that illegal encroachments and illegal occupations are being identified and such illegal occupations and encroachments are being removed in Dehradun. On July 3, 2018, Vivek Gupta s/o Baldev Krishan Gupta, resident of 51-B,Haridwar road, Race Course, Dehradun, Satish Kumar S/o Om Prakash, resident of 51-B, Haridwar Road, Race Course ( Hari Om Store), Dehradun, Mrs Renu Gupta, w/o Rohit Kumar, resident of 51-B, Haridwar Road through Ashwani Garg s/o R.S.Garg, Doon Valley Medicine, Race Course Chowk and Praveen Kumar s/o Om Prakash, resident of 51-B, Haridwar Road, Race Course, Dehradun were given notices as per law to remove their encroachments and they were duly informed about their illegal encroachments and illegal occupations by the public officers. However, the illegal encroachers did not vacate their illegal occupation so the anti-encroachment task force removed the said encroachments.
Meanwhile, the encroachers despite instructions and warning again encroached upon the identified land which amounts to disobedience of the orders given by the public servants. The said encroachers have encroached upon public road and made it rickety damaging public property.
Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash said that Assistant Engineer, PWD, Dehradun division had registered an FIR under sections 188,431 IPC against the said encroachers on August 1, 2018.
