Taking cognizance on the delay in helicoter service during Dhumakot road accident, in which 48 person lost their lives, state government has decided to procure new helicopter for the state. Currently state has one helicopter which is being used by the chief minister or other VIP. State government has own charter plane, which is not being frequently used so government is planning to sell of the charter plane. With these money they would acquire one more helicopter, which is will be used during emergency.
As we know that on sunday a bus had fallen and more than four dozen people lost their lives. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolence over it. To rescue the victim state disaster response force (SDRF) team was supposed to go by helicopter but aviation companies did to provide their helicopter due to one or other reason. Some Additional Chief Secretary Omprakash intervened and talked to the aviation companies’ director to get helicopter service. Thereafter SDRF team was dispatched but could not reach upto the spot due to inclement weather.
With this incident state government has decided to procure one more helicopter. As state charter plane is lying in hanger most of the time so state would sell off it.
