Rishikesh-Karnaprayag railway line land compensation to push circle rates higher

More than 300 people from 11 villages of Pauri district will be compensated for the acquiring land like the other districts, which are in the process of the much-awaited Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Rail Project. In view of this, in order to compensate like other districts under the project, policy has been made to increase the circle rate in these villages of Pauri. The Joint Committee of five departments will determine this.

The said decision was taken in a meeting held in the Vidhan Sabha office on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the Minister of State (Co-operative and Higher Education) Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat. The people complained about the compensation for land acquired in the villages of Pauri district for the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail project. It was found in the investigation that in the villages where the land is to be acquired, the circle rates are low.

Dr. Rawat discussed with officials of various departments in this regard. It was decided that the combined committee of revenue, railway, justice, transport and finance department will decide to increase the circle rate in Pauri district. It was informed that RR Plan will be implemented for rehabilitation in public interest under the project. Dr. Rawat said that on behalf of the Railways, a 52-bed hospital will be built on the back of the Ranihat bridge and the present hospital in Srinagar. Within one month, its tender process will be started. Not only this, the new playground in Srikot will also be made by the Railways.
