In view of increasing man animal conflict, state government has decided to increase the compensation amount for wild animal’s victim by Rs two lakh. it means earlier they were getting mere Rs three lakh but now they would get Rs five lakh while injured would get Rs two lakh instead of Rs 50000 earlier by the government as compensation. Even if a family shifted from national park then they would be given land and will be given ownership rights too. For this the proposal will be discussed in cabinet for final approval.
Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has categorically asked the forest officials to make sure proper participation in local people in forest conservation. With this they would get a chance to earn their livelihood and will make their contribution to protect forest too. Even they agreed to allow elephant safari in bugger zone of corbet and Ramnagar forest division. Now all the fund, whichever money Rajaji Tiger Reserve would earn through tourist, will be deposited in Rajaji Tiger Reserve conservation foundation.
Now wild life board meeting would happen on every six months. Earlier it was happening once in a year. Whatever issues you put before the board meeting should be studied properly especially its pros and cons. Board has not agreed to allowed angling in corbet buffer zone and forest reserve area. chief minister has asked the forest department that you inform to the police about the mountaineer if you give them permission for scaling mountain so that their life can be rescued in case of emergency.
