Strange but true, Chief Minsiter Trivendra Singh Rawat, who had launched water conservation scheme by putting one litre bottle filled with sand and water into cistern about one year ago, initiative is not being followed in Chief Minister Office (CMO). It seems either CMO officials are not under the command of chief minister or they don’t care for his decision. It raises question mark that is CMO superior than CM?
Chief Minister is putting his best effort to save water but officials are deflating his initiative. For instance to save water he had personally launched a scheme, under which people were appealed to put a one liter bottle filled with sand and water into cistern, by putting a bottle into secretariat’s toilet. He had inaugurated the scheme in the presence of then chief secretary S Ramaswami. Then CM had said by making small contribution people can save million liters of water per day. He had appealed to the people to follow this and said that one family comprises of four person and one member uses toilet four to five times in a day. It means one family use toilet 20-25 times a day. If they adopt this initiative then they can save 20-25 litire per day or 7300 – 9125 litre per year. With this they can bring phenomenal change because these water can be used by others.
On May 5, www.dainiknation.com correspondent visited to the CMO of chief minister’s residence. During the visit, he found that toilet’s cistern was malfunctioning because water was spilling everywhere so he removes the lid to check chief minister’s advisory to save water but surprisingly the advisory was not implemented in CMO’s toilet. Even Gent’s toilet door’s latch was malfunctioning so user has to struggle hard to come out from the toilet.
Coincidentally several people followed it but CMO did not follow the advisory. Interestingly even most of the toilets of secretariat were not having the bottle into the cistern. Now question is that if CMO or secretariat will not follow the Chief Minister’s instruction then who will follow?
