The much-awaited Dehradun-Pantnagar air services will start from the last week of February. The Union civil aviation ministry has selected Deccan Aviation for the fixed wing service between the two prominent cities of the Himalayan state. Whereas Heritage Aviation would operate flights from Pithoragarh for Dehradun, Delhi and Pantnagar. Besides, soon 20 more helicopter services would be soon introduced in the Himalayan state.
In a video conferencing session with all district magistrates, chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh said that in the next three to six months, maximum possible heli services would be started in Uttarakhand. He also took the feedback from the DMs in the airports and helipads in their respective areas.
Singh said that two airports and 14 helipads have got the approval under the regional connectivity scheme of the Centre. The airport and helipads in Uttarakhand have been made as per the parametres of the Airport Authority of India.
