State Social welfare minister Yashpal Arya said that to wipe out manual scavenging system cent percent and disposal of human waste and garbage state government needs central assistance. For this state wants to set up waste treatement plant with modern technique.
He was attending the national survey on manual scavenger, which was organized by social justice and empowerment ministry on Wednesday.
During the meeting Arya explained them about the status of Dehradun, Haridwar, Rudrapur, Kashipur and Haldwani. He said that for garbage disposal we are planning to set up adequate number of solid waste treatment plantS. For this state needs financial support from union government because state has limited resource.
Later he met with union minister for social justice and empowerment, Thawar Chand Gehlot separately. For this he sought Rs 17 crore for Dr Ambedkar post tenth scholarship; Rs 55 crore for centrally sponsored other backward class post tenth scholarship; Rs 113 crore for national social help programmes like oldage, widow and divyang pension; Rs 121 crore for SC post tenth scholarship; Rs 63 crore for ST post tenth scholarship and Rs 22 crore fro Babu jagjivan Ram hostel sceheme in Naintal, Udhamsinghnagar, Haridwar, Dehradun and Pauri and Rs six crore for national schedule caste corporation, which gives fund for the purchase of vehicle under tourism development programme.
Gehlot assured that union government would release fund on above heads.
