Dehradun police launches free pickup and drop facilities for women

Dehradun police on Sunday launched an initiative -‘Sukhad’ in which free pickup and drop facilities will be provided to women on Sundays. Police will provide free pick-and-drop facility to women going shopping, travelling or other work in the city on Sunday. This facility will be available in the city from 10 am to 10 pm, as per the planning of traffic directorate.

Traffic Director Kewal Khurana said that Vikram and Tata Magic will be available at 30 places in the city. He said that these vehicles will be placed next to a ‘Sukhad’ board. These vehicles will bring the women to their destination according to their needs. Apart from this, CPU personnel will also be deployed for the safety of women in these intersections. Women or girls can take advantage of this service by calling 8755721002 or 100 numbers. Director Traffic DIG Kewal Khurana says that this service has been started for women to travel safely. On the last Sunday of every month, women can avail the free vehicle service on major cities in the city. 30 vehicles have been set up to offer pickup and drop facilities.
