IIT scientists will reduce your dependency over electricity

DAINIK NATION BUREAU

If you get upset with your inflated electricity bill and worried over the depleting ozone layer due to excessive use of Ac then don’t worry because scientists are busy in research to find out its permanent solution. In this regard IIT, Roorkee has joined hand with the scientist of UK university. They have been jointly working on a project namely ‘Zero Peak Energy Design’ and its first meeting is schedule to happen on December 4 at Roorkee.

If thing goes as per their plan then you don’t need Ac or room heater to cope up with scorching heat and plummeting temperature respectively in your house. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee scientists have joined hand with UK counterpart to find out its option by building house accordingly. If they succeed, then your dependency over the electricity would reduce phenomenally.

Currently people spend their 10 to 20 percent income over electricity to get comfort at home. During summer they had to pay inflated bill due to Ac and cooler and during summer they pay for room heater.

As per the plan they have been working on technology which would keep your house warm or cool according to weather. For this they have working on Zero peak energy design project. IIT Roorkee Architect & planning department’s Prof E Rajshekhar said that there is need to do research on the designing of the house. For this IIT, Roorkee scientists and UK’s bath university’s scientist have formed a joint group for the research.

As per the plan they would complete their research by 2020 and its cost would Rs 15 crore. Under this project different parts of the country’s temperature data being compiled then they would work on the designing of the house. Their objective is to reduce the dependency of the electricity and preserve the environment too. For this IIT Roorkee is going to have its first meeting on their project on December 4. In which both countries’ scientist would finalise a detail plan about how to go ahead on their research.
