To Rejuvenate the rivers state government has taken concrete steps. In first phase Rispana and Koshi rivers are being revived. This was disclosed by the chief secretary UK Singh while convening a meeting with officials here at Almora today.
In first phase Rispana and Koshi rivers are being revived. For Koshi river’s rejuvenation state is running public awareness campaign and also seeking public support on priority basis. He assured them that fund crunch would not be an issue. For the rejunvenation of rivers we would also take technical support too.
Chief secretary also said that to improve the health scenario of the state, government is working on large scale including arrangement of air ambulance so that it can be used to mitigate the impact of accident. To check road accident, roads are being widened and identify the accident prone areas too. He instructed to the PWD to widen the accident prone areas’ road. For this you also run an awareness campaign among the students and motivate them to drive only after procuring driving license.
State is constructing Pancheshwar dam, which is having national importance, and will find soluation of the affected people with proper deliberation. To promote tea cultivation, if anyone wants to do cultivation of tea then they would be given land on lease so that production can be increased.
On this occasion Almora DM Eva Ashish Srivastava has given a chauli apen as souvenier to the Chief secretary. During the meeting Kumaon commissioner chandrashekhar Bhatt, SSP P Renuka Devi and CDO Mayur Dixit were present there.
