To make city free from beggars Uttarakhand police has finalised intensive plan today. Initially they would lodge a case against the parent or syndicate whosoever force the child for begging. If the child beggar is an independent, then they would be rehabilitated by the police.
The meeting was led by ADGP Ashok Kumar and attended by IG Deepam Seth. Police says begging is an offence and forcing children for begging is criminal offence. This is not socially acceptable. To check this menace there is a need to run special campaign against the social evil.
Kumar asked their subordinate to identify the parent who force their children for begging and run a campaign against them. Even identify gang whosoever have been operating begging racket. You first collect information then take concrete action against the social menace. He made it clear that to make sure that child should not be seen as begging at traffic lights.
Ironically, child commission had raised the voice against the child begging and had asked the administration to take punitive action against the child begging. Following on it, Uttarakhand police convened a meeting to stop begging, which are frequently happening in most of the red lights of the cities of the state.
The meeting was attended by IG Law & Order Deepak Seth, ASP, Anti Human Trafficking Shahjahan Javed Khan and in-charge of anti- human trafficking of Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Champawat.
