Budget funding to be stopped if MNREGA work not completed this financial year

If the work being done under MNREGA in this financial year is not completed by March 2018, the budget for the concerned departments under MNREGA component will be stopped. This warning was given by the CDO SS Bisht in a review meeting held on Thursday in Champawat.

He expressed displeasure over the fact that half of the many jobs are incomplete out of the 1299 works alloted in the district. Issuing warning to the departmental officials, he asked to exclude long-term work and complete the remaining small tasks in every situation till the last week of March. He said that the funds allocated under the MNREGA component will be stopped in the year 2018-19 for the non-functioning departments. The CDO has asked the officials to keep regular checks on the work being conducted from time to time and that no lapse will be tolerated. He said to give priority to MNREGA works in 2018-19,which include Planting on water sources, Vermi Compost, Pond, Fodder development, Nursery, Water Harvesting, Winter Plantation, Anganwadi Construction, Tejpatta and Major Ilyachi, Animal Husbandry. They instructed the Water Institute, the Water Corporation, the drinking water and the fields to irrigate the small and state irrigation and prioritize irrigation works.
