PM reviews all weather road project’s status

To review the status of ongoing under construction all weather road project’s status, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a meeting with Chief Secretary through Video Conferencing (VC) and expressed satisfaction over this month’s progress. During the review of Pro active Governance And Timely Implementation (PRAGATI), Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh apprised him about the status. With this project pilgrims of Char Dham i.e. Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath would get comfortable journey.

CS said that 889 kilometer road to be made by spending Rs 11,700 crore and time frame being fixed. So far 395 out of 889 km road projects have been sanctioned by the union government and 340 work contract have already been awarded. For two-lane road land will be handed over to the executive agency by January first week. Rs 145 crore out of received Rs 190 crore have been disbursed among 10,000 farmers so far.  In this month they will distribute Rs 28.54 crore among the beneficiary. Even 250 hectares land have got forest clearance too.

Chief secretary apprissed that under Pradhan Mantri khanij kalyan yojna (Prime Minister Mining Area Welfare scheme) state has constituted District Mineral Foundation (DMF) as per the norms. Under DFM affected areas will be provided medical facility, supply of drinking water, welfare schemes and restoration of ecology too.

Ironically, under all weather road projects to lane road are being built. In which tunnel in chamba (tehri) and Roditop (Uttarkashi), 15 big bridges, 101 small bridges, 3596 culvert, 12 bypass, 29 protection wall at sliding zone, 33 road side public service centre and crash barrier parfait wall will be made. In this ambitious projects seven packages are included. 140 kilometer rishikesh-rudraprayag road, 95 km long Dharasu-Yamuntri route, 76 km Rudrprayag- Gaurikund route, 150 km tanakpur-Pithoragarh route to be made by the PWD. 160 km Rudrapryag-Mana route by BRO, 144 km road by PIU and 124 km dhrasu-gangotri route to be made byte NHI DCL.
